The AFREhealth Eastern Africa Regional Chapter invites you to participate in an interactive virtual workshop on quality Manuscript Writing. Dissemination of research findings is one of the cornerstones of a good researcher. A key avenue for many researchers to disseminate research findings is through publications. The workshop will capacitate researchers and academicians with best practices, methodologies, and technology-powered tools to produce high-quality academic and grant-based manuscripts. Title: Creating Shared Health Professions Education for Africa

Join us for the AFREhealth Webinar hosted by ScholarRx

Introduction
Medical education often occurs in silos with minimum collaboration among schools. This duplication of effort can be wasteful, particularly during a global pandemic. We will discuss the development of a novel shared medical curriculum exchange platform that can empower a global community of educators to democratize access to quality education even in limited-resource countries, promote interprofessional education, and help address the international shortage of healthcare workers.

We will describe our early experiences in developing a shared educational community of practice at the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda and how this may inform future directions in scaling shared, open-access education in Africa.

Title: Advancing the field of Impact Science in Africa

Join us for the AFREhealth Satellite (CUGH Virtual Global Health Week)

Introduction
AFREhealth, an interprofessional organization, exists to improve health and living conditions (social determinants) that affect populations in Africa. Professionals celebrate the impact of their work-related achievements. However, different groups use the concept differently, necessitating clarity in what we mean by impact.

This AFREhealth virtual workshop will provide the opportunity to take a step back and carefully reflect on how we use the word, impact, and how the use and focus appeal to the wider communities we serve. What benefits do the people we serve wish to obtain from our work? Our audience will range from the people we serve, government and civil society leaders, funders like foundations, NGOs, and philanthropists who wish to support our work.

Title: Capacity Strengthening for the Health Workforce in LMICs: an AFREhealth - CUGH partnership

Introduction
Capacity strengthening is the process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world. The UN links this definition to Sustainable Development Goal 17: Revitalizing the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development. Capacity-building should be transformational and sustained over time. Capacity building aims to empower people and/or institutions to maintain and sustain key skills.

The Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) Capacity Strengthening Database (CBD) (www.CUGHCapacityBuilding.org) is a free platform that catalogues healthcare workforce training capacity gaps and expertise among institutions globally to foster meaningful partnerships that advance research and clinical practice globally. this site was created to serve three primary functions: enable universities, institutions, governments and other development actors (especially in LMICs) to access the trainers they need to strengthen their own training capabilities across biomedical and non-biomedical disciplines; provide a platform where institutions with trainers can identify institutions that may need their assistance; and strengthen the translation of science into policies that are scaled up.

The purpose of this webinar is to share how to develop meaningful capacity strengthening avenues, introduce the CUGH Capacity Strengthening platform to the AFREhealth community and field questions from the audience on how AFREhealth members, governments and other African development organizations can use this platform to strengthen their training programs and expand their skilled workforce.
