Prof. Victoria Bam is an Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Public Health Nursing and Vice Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana where she has served for more than 20 years. Prior to this, she had worked at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Health Learning Materials Centre, Kumasi. She is a trained nurse-midwife with specialization in Public Health. Her undergraduate training in Nursing was at the University of Ghana, Legon. Her graduate studies were in Health Services Planning and Management at KNUST and a PhD. (Community Health) as a split programme between KNUST and DBL-Institute for Health Research and Development, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She supports both public and private institutions of higher learning and other organizations with her expertise. She serves as an external examiner and assessor for several universities in African. She has conducted research, published in credible peer-reviewed journals, made presentations at local and international conferences and is a reviewer for reputable journals. She has made significant contributions to the development of academic programmes at KNUST. She is a Foundation Fellow and President of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives (GCNM). She serves on the Governing Council of the Africa Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREHealth) and the GCNM. Prof. (Mrs) Bam is a Fulbright Scholar, mentor, and a member of several professional bodies. She has been honoured with awards in excellence, leadership, service, innovation, and dedication to work.
