Nthabiseng Phaladze is a professor of nursing at the University of Botswana. She obtained her Bachelor in Nursing Education from the University of Botswana, Master of Nursing Science and PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI.
Prof. Phaladze is the former Head of Nursing, and Director of the W.H.O. Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Development. Her research and scholarship have been more focused on HIV and AIDS across different populations and other healthcare issues such as health policy, human resources for health and gender issues. She has expanded her research to include neglected tropical diseases mainly schistosomiasis. Prof Phaladze is the co-principal investigator and Scientist of the PROVE study through AFREhealth. She was a member of the MEPI Council in 2015 and subsequently AFREhealth in 2016. She is a member of the Research Subcommittee of AFREhealth and is currently the Chairperson of the AFREhealth Health Workforce Adhoc committee constituted by the Governing Council in February 2024 in DRC. Dr. Phaladze is a member of the University of Botswana Institutional Review Board and the Interim Chairperson of the Applied and Bioethics Center. She belongs to several professional organizations such as the Botswana Nurses Union, Sigma Theta Tau International, Africa Honor Society and International AIDS Society. She has served on the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana, Education Committee and several national advisory boards
